Millennium Development Goals

In September 2000, during the United Nations Millennium Summit, the 189 member states of the UN have selected 8 goals to rid the world of poverty.

For the first time in history there is genuine consensus that poverty is the world’s main problem. Rich and poor countries have pledged to unite their efforts to achieve the 8 Millennium Development goals by 2015.
